Adwords Marketing System - Makes Success More Likely!

Adwords Marketing System - Makes Success More Likely!

By Elaine Berry

If you are succeeding with adwords marketing, you know how exciting it can be! If you’re not succeeding, is it because you’re just putting up any old stuff and hoping for the best?  Or do you have a proper adwords marketing system?

If you don’t have a proper system for your marketing, you will lose a lot of money.  Remember you have a lot of competition – you have to think out a way to beat it. If you don’t know how to work out an adwords marketing system, here are some of the things it needs to include

  •  Be specific with your keywords.  If you sell tools, don’t just use “tools”.  What kind of tools do you sell?  Garden tools?  Power tools?  What are they made of?  If you sell only from one particular manufacturer, specify that too.
  • Use negative keywords.  If you sell garden tools, put –joinery, --power etc. in your keyword list to make sure your ads don’t appear when people are searching for joinery tools or power tools.
  • Keep your adgroups very small and tightly focussed.  That means, write a different ad for each small, closely-related group of keywords – don’t try to make one ad do for a large group of keywords or it won’t be sufficiently relevant.
  • Make sure your ads promise exactly what you are delivering. Don’t be tempted to make your ads over-seductive to encourage people to click.  Remember you lose if people click and don’t buy.
  • Conversely, also make sure your landing page offers precisely what was promised in the ad and that it clearly leads visitors to the “buy now” button.  If you are sending people to an affiliate site, check you are linking to the product sales page and not to the merchant’s home page or any other page on their site – people certainly won’t spend time hunting around for the correct page.  You should have visited the page before even setting up the campaign to make sure it’s likely to convert.
  • Track the landing page.  Know which ad people landed from and what proportion bought or didn’t buy in each case.  Disable ads that aren’t performing.
  • Also track your keywords closely.  You need to know what is the ROI (return on investment) for each one.  Ditch the poorly performing ones straight away – they are costing you money.
  • Keep tweaking everything -- your keywords, your adgroups, your ads and your landing pages – until you are successful.

Remember the old saying, “If you aim at nothing you will hit it.” If you don’t have an adwords marketing system you are most unlikely to succeed. Keep honing your system and you will find out what everybody’s so excited about!
